Why Bass Love Sand-grass

Most of the time a lure comes back fouled with subsurface vegetation I get annoyed.

There's one weed-fouling situation that actually brings a smile to my face however; when the vegetation gives off a skunk-like smell...

I've found a sand-grass patch and bass (both smallmouth and largemouth) love it!

Sand-grass, musk grass, stink weed whatever you call it offers a carpet of vegetation affording both cover and a food source to many fish species including bass as the folks from Hook n Look demonstrate in the following video with an underwater perspective...

So the next time your fouled bait or weed covered bass has a skunky odor to it, "don't worry, be happy" 😎
